Join us Thursday, February 20th, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm for a special Open Studio session with artist-in-residence Richard York, whose woodcut process and artistic journey will be the focus of the evening!
Open Studio is a drop-in, inclusive program focused on open-ended creation. Located at the Beaverbrook Art Education Centre, it’s a welcoming space to explore your creativity with a variety of materials, including drawing, painting, lino block printing, collage-making, and more.
Richard York, an artist and printmaker with works in numerous private, public, and corporate collections across North America, Europe, and Asia, will share insights into his small-edition reduction woodcuts and linocuts. York’s prints combine representation, abstraction, texture, and colour to reflect the complex boundaries between natural and man-made landscapes.
