Open Studio

Open Studio is a welcoming, drop-in space where anyone can make art. Located in the Art Education Centre on the lower level of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery (enter through the courtyard), it offers space, materials, and a bilingual facilitator on hand for guidance and support.

Explore drawing, painting, lino block printing, collage, textile art, and more, at your own pace, with materials provided.

No registration needed, just drop in.

Thursdays, 5:00–9:00 PM — Adults (16+), all skill levels welcome
Saturdays, 9:00–11:00 AM — Family Open Studio, for all ages

Entry is by donation (suggested $10). Gallery admission is not included

Thursday Evenings (Adults 16+) A drop-in evening of creativity for adults of all skill levels. Come explore drawing, painting, printmaking, and more using shared materials, or bring your own project. A facilitator is on hand throughout to help and inspire.

Saturday Mornings (Families): A drop-in morning of creativity for all ages. Kids, parents, and art lovers alike are welcome to explore drawing, painting, printmaking, and more using shared materials, or bring your own project. A facilitator is on hand throughout to help and inspire.

Materials Available

Drawing: charcoal, graphite, chalk pastels, watercolour pencils, and drawing paper in various sizes and weights
Painting: acrylic and watercolour paints, brushes, canvas paper, watercolour paper
Lino Printing: carving tools, brayers, lino blocks, printing ink and paper
Collage: magazines, coloured paper, scissors, glue
Textile: yarn, felt, fabric, sewing supplies, knitting needles, crochet hooks
…and more!

Groups of 10 or more should book in advance by emailing our Program Coordinator at education@beaverbrookartgallery.org.
