Thursday, January 23rd, at 6:30 PM
Join Emma Hassencahl-Perley, Curator of Indigenous Art at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, and Mel Beaulieu, the current artist in residence and one of the artists featured in the Radical Stitch exhibition, for a guided tour.
Emma and Mel will lead visitors through the Radical Stitch exhibition, offering an interactive, conversational exploration of the artwork. They will discuss the cultural significance of beadwork, the stories behind the pieces, and the exhibition’s overarching themes. This informal, engaging tour provides a deeper understanding of the artists' processes and how beadwork reflects identity, relationships, and contemporary Indigenous practices.
