Colleen Wolstenholme

Colleen Wolstenholme is a visual artist, jeweller, sculptor, and educator born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Internationally recognized for her jewelry and large-scale sculptures inspired by pharmaceuticals, her work examines the uses and abuses of power within industry, institutions, religion, and the state through a feminist and postmodern lens. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and is held in numerous public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Wolstenholme studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and earned an MFA in jewelry from the State University of New York at New Paltz. In 2002, she was the Atlantic nominee for the inaugural Sobey Art Award. She earned a PhD from York University in 2019 and is currently Assistant Professor of Visual Art at St. Thomas University.
