The Shape of Desire: an artist talk and book launch with Don Andrus

On Thursday, May 2nd, at 6:30 pm, join artist Donald Andrus for an illustrated talk about how his current retrospective exhibition at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery in Charlottetown, PEI, came to be. The Catalogue of this exhibition will be available for purchase, and the artist talk will be followed by a book signing.  

The artist was a co-publisher with Goose Lane Editions for the production of the monograph.  

Donald Andrus was born in Scotland and studied at The University of Toronto Dept of Fine Arts, where he graduated with a BA and MA.

His professional career includes Assistant Curator at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery from 1964 to 67, Lecturer in Art History at UNB, Fredericton, 1967 to 69, Professor of Art History at Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, 1970 -1996, Curator of the Sir George Williams Art Galleries at Concordia University, 1971-1981, Co-Founder, Co-Publisher, and Co-Editor with Sandra Paikowsky of  The Journal of Canadian Art History.   

Since 1988, Andrus has had numerous solo exhibitions in Montreal, Toronto, and Charlottetown and group exhibitions in Canada, Germany, Venice, Italy, and Seoul, South Korea. Currently, Feb. 10 -May 19, 2024, Andrus has a Retrospective Exhibition organized by the Confederation Centre Art Gallery, Charlottetown, on display.
