Please note that all spots have been reserved for this workshop.

Join us on September 28, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, as we come together to honour the memory of those we have lost and to find solace through creativity. In this workshop, Ryan Harris will lead participants in crafting their own red shawls as a tribute to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Hosted by the Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre in collaboration with the Red Shawl Campaign, all materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

This workshop is free of charge, but pre-registration is required as there are only 20 spaces available.

About:

The Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre’s Red Shawl Campaign will be held from Oct. 2-4, 2024. This campaign recognizes and honours the lost lives of Indigenous Woman and Girls and brings awareness to the issues of violence, injustice and systemic barriers that have given rise to a crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, in Canada.

A symbol of protection, the red shawl brings healing as we seek action and move toward justice for our lost sisters and their loved ones. This year, we will honour and reflect with this three-day campaign, through a Red Shawl exhibit and a variety of community events. Please join us in honouring those we have lost.
