March 13, 2025March 13, 2025

Join us Thursday, March 13, 6:00pm - 8:00pm to launch Danielle Hogan’s first book, Light and Material: Weaving and the work of Nel Oudemans.

Light and Material: Weaving and the Work of Nel Oudemans by Danielle Hogan weaves together many narrative threads. Telling the story of Nel Oudemans, a woman who made significant contributions to the weaving culture in New Brunswick after she arrived from The Hague at the end of World War II. Hogan explores not only the art and business of weaving in New Brunswick but also the mythology and symbolism associated with the craft. In "Light and Material," Oudemans' biography serves as the warp, with various strands of New Brunswick’s weaving history interlacing through it.

This is a free event taking place at the Harrison McCain Pavilion.
