Saturday, November 7th, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
The Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts exhibition presents the work of eight winners recognized for artistic merit and outstanding contributions to Canada's visual and media arts, and fine craft. Join us at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery for a panel discussion with this year's laureates. This conversation offers an opportunity to hear directly from the artists who will discuss their artistic practices, careers, and contributions to contemporary Canadian art.
Moderated by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the panel will explore the ideas, experiences, and creative processes that shape the artists’ work, while reflecting on the role of artists in Canada’s cultural landscape. The discussion will also consider the significance of receiving one of Canada’s most prestigious national recognitions in the visual and media arts. Following the panel, audiences will have an opportunity to engage with the artists during a question-and-answer period.
This talk is free to attend and will take place in the RBC Learning Centre (enter through the Education Centre doors).
