L' Atelier

9 janvier 202420 juin 2024

From January 9 - June 20, 2024, join us on Tuesdays (12-4 PM), Wednesdays (10 AM-4:30 PM) and Thursdays (3-9 PM) for use of our Open Studio.

The Open Studio is an inclusive space for artists and art lovers of all ages. Located in the Beaverbrook Art Gallery Art Education Centre, the Open Studio provides art-making space and materials to everyone visiting the gallery. The Open Studio provides activities for creative exploration and reflection, such as drawing, painting, lino block printing, collage making and more. Admission to the Open Studio is included with purchase of gallery admission or a Beaverbrook Art Gallery Membership.

The Open Studio is available three days a week, with a different focus each day:

Tuesdays 12-4 PM: Open to adults (age 16+) who want to explore various art-making mediums and work in a creative space. A facilitator will be present to welcome participants and offer guidance, advice, and materials.

Wednesdays 10 AM-4:30 PM: Wednesdays are open to all ages, with ready-to-create workstations for kids, and art materials and instructions on how to create your own artwork for adults. This is a drop-in activity space and children under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. For groups of 10 or more please book in advance by emailing our Coordinatrice des programmes éducatifs.

Thursdays 3-9 PM: Thursdays are open to adults (16+) who are emerging artists, experienced artists, or who are new to art-making and are interested in developing an art practice in a shared creative space. Thursdays are for those looking for opportunities for collaboration, skill sharing, or want a fresh look at their artwork in a group setting. A facilitator will be present to offer artistic support, guidance, advice, and materials. Thursday participants are encouraged to bring in their own art materials and artworks in progress. Admission to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and Open Studio is by donation on Thursdays.

As the Open Studio launches, visitors will be able to take in additional artist talks, creative sessions and workshops in the coming months. Visitors are encouraged to check our website to stay up to date on the Open Studio.
