Beginner Oil Painting Course with Artist Jennifer Pazienza 
Four Sessions: Saturdays, January 4, 11, 18, 25 | 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Join artist Jennifer Pazienza for a beginner oil painting course where you’ll explore the beauty of nature through landscape painting. Drawing inspiration from her lifelong connection to the natural world, Jennifer began painting as a child beneath a white peach tree in her mother’s garden in New Jersey.

In this workshop, you’ll discover the creative possibilities of oil painting using a simple palette of reds, yellows, blues, and white. Jennifer will introduce you to colour mixing, paint application, and the fundamentals of creating landscapes inspired by artists like Tom Thomson.

Come ready to paint and explore the world of oil painting!

Cost:
$200, with a 20% discount for members.

Reference materials: Please bring a high-quality colour image of a landscape with trees (on your phone, tablet, or in print) to use as a reference.

Materials Included: All painting supplies, including paints, brushes, and canvas.

Jennifer Pazienza 

An artist educator, Jennifer Pazienza is a regular contributor to community programming at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Jennifer holds B.Ed., Master’s and PhD degrees in art education. She studied painting with American landscape painter Richard Mayhew.  Since coming to New Brunswick in 1989, as professor of art education at the University of New Brunswick until 2014, she has been an art advocate, writer and curator for New Brunswick and international artists. 

An award-winning painter with a lyrical landscape lens, she has over 40 solo and group shows in Canada, the US and Italy, with works in permanent collections at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, White Plains Hospital, NY, McCain Corporation, Florenceville, the University of New Brunswick, Saint John Regional Hospital and Mac, Mac & Mac Law Firm, Nova Scotia. Jennifer is one of nine Canadian artists chosen for the Luciano Benetton Imago Mundi Permanent Collection project, Art Theorema #3 in Treviso, Italy.
