Join artist in residence and award-winning artist Nelson White for an artist talk exploring his contemporary portrait practice and current residency project: a large-scale portrait of Jeremy Dutcher. White will discuss how his work challenges historic settler depictions of Indigenous peoples by presenting contemporary Indigenous identity through portraits grounded in strength, beauty, and cultural continuity. This talk is free to attend and will be in the Harrison McCain Pavillion.
