The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is now accepting applications for the third annual Theodore Prize
(Fredericton, New Brunswick, September 8, 2025) – The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is excited to announce that in collaboration with the Throop Family Foundation, it is now accepting applications from Atlantic Canadian visual artists for the third annual Theodore Prize.
Issu d'un désir de redonner à la communauté des arts visuels du Canada atlantique, le prix Theodore est nommé en l'honneur d'un membre spécial de la famille Throop qui a été un exemple de générosité et de bonne volonté. Administré par le Musée des beaux-arts Beaverbrook, le Prix Théodore est une récompense annuelle de 20 000 $, attribuée à un artiste du Canada atlantique dont les œuvres témoignent d'un haut niveau d'excellence artistique et créative, d'une maîtrise du médium utilisé par l'artiste et d'un niveau d'estime reconnu par la communauté des conservateurs et des galeries du Canada atlantique.
The deadline to apply for this year’s Theodore Prize is November 1, 2025. The Theodore Prize will be juried by three arts professionals, including one member of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery curatorial staff and one representative each from two other Atlantic Canadian public art galleries or post-secondary art institutions. Members of the jury will be announced with the announcement of the winner of the prize.
The winner of the second annual Theodore Prize will be announced on November 20, 2025.
