Natif du Qu\u00e9bec, Lapointe, dont la carri\u00e8re est forte de plus de 40 ans, est professeur au d\u00e9partement des arts visuels de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Moncton depuis 1988. Il a eu un impact important sur les arts visuels et le paysage sculptural environnemental de la r\u00e9gion. Depuis sa premi\u00e8re exposition solo en 1984 en Gasp\u00e9sie, ses \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es partout au Qu\u00e9bec, dans les Maritimes et \u00e0 l\u2019international. En 2005, il a obtenu le prestigieux Prix Strathbutler de la Fondation Sheila Hugh MacKay.
