Stephanie studied Fine Arts at Mount Allison University, specializing in painting and printmaking. After graduating in 2005, she has participated in a number of group shows. In 2014, she graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of New Brunswick and practiced as a Registered Nurse in Stroke Rehabilitation and Geriatric care. Her work combines an interest in art and health, to understand and integrate the grief of changes in health, through drawing, writing, video and audio work.
Stephanie Weirathmueller will be engaging in a project that documents the conceptual, technical, emotional, and spiritual journey of creating a series of drawings while living with chronic fatigue and major depression. The process of grieving and accepting a life altered by disabling illnesses is represented in emotional and intimate imagery, video, photography, writing, and audio reflections.
