In the capital city of Fredericton, along the South bank of the Saint John River, lies a stony, straight-lined building. You might not know it from the outside, but inside those walls, you can explore strange and beautiful worlds full of artistic creativity. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery always has a touch of magic on its walls, but as the holiday season approaches and the weather gets colder, if the timing is just right, the building can be transformed into an even more magical place, a holiday wonderland surrounded by paintings.
This year, for just one day, festive wooden figures join the Gallery’s staff to once again play host to hundreds of children and their families for the return of a much-loved holiday tradition: The Nutcracker Tea!
Ticketholders at this bright and colourful event will be treated to a tea service, carolers, music, dance performances from all over the globe, art activities, and, of course, plenty of sweets – all with a festive holiday twist inspired by the Gallery’s collection!
This year’s magic will be made even more fantastic by a very special guest. Author Wendy McLeod MacKnight will be here launching a brand-new, never-before-published short story: A Beaverbrook Holiday! For fans of The Frame-Up, or anyone else who wonders what our artworks do to celebrate the season, books will be available on the day of the Nutcracker Tea, and after that in the Gallery Shop.
Don’t miss out on your chance to get a free copy of A Beaverbrook Holiday! Renew your membership, or purchase a new one, and show your ticket to the Nutcracker Tea at the front desk to receive a copy. Offer valid until November 25, 2018.
