Studio Watch: Emerging Artist Series: Painting: Andrea Brewer
The Studio Watch Emerging Artist program focuses on painting and is dedicated to the presentation of work by emerging artists in New Brunswick. The program has been made possible with the generous financial support of Earl and Sandy Brewer, who are committed to providing emerging artists of New Brunswick with an opportunity to be celebrated, to excel in their field, and to advance to the next step in their career. Along with the prestige of an exhibition for the first time in a major art museum, a purchase award is also provided, as well as an incentive to other art patrons to support the featured artist and other young artists in New Brunswick.
For the tenth annual Studio Watch exhibition the Beaverbrook Art Gallery is pleased to showcase the fine talent of New Brunswick’s young artists, and invites everyone to discover this year’s notable emerging artist: Andrea Brewer.
Andrea Brewer is a visual artist working in oil, watercolor, charcoal and fiber. She is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick where she paints and teaches in her studio. Andrea graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2001 and she has been exhibited at a number of small venues in Fredericton and Halifax. She draws great inspiration from her studies in art history and anthropology and says she is “interested in the juxtaposition of technique, color, pattern and imagery.”
