BILLIE: Undercurrents in Atlantic Canadian Visual Culture
The award-winning journal, published twice annually, examines themes in Atlantic Canadian contemporary art. The latest issue steps out of the mainstream current of contemporary art to look at ‘Outsider Art.’ BILLIE is available at the Gallery shop, at outlets around the region, and across Canada through Magazines Canada. BILLIE is published with the support of the McCain Family, the Harrison McCain Foundation, and the McCain Foundation.
In this third issue, entitled The Outsider Art Issue, Atlantic Canadian artists and contributors turn a magnifying glass to artwork, concepts, and approaches outside the norm. This “outsider art” can be anything that is created by self-taught artists, or anyone who is socially outside the cultural mainstream.
The latest issue of BILLIE: Undercurrents in Atlantic Canadian Visual Culture was launched on December 8, 2016 – Read more about it here!
Stay tuned - we'll announce our next theme shortly!
