Artistica Summer Art Camps 2018

Day camps for young artists!

Early bird registration now open:
Register before May 1st for reduced cost.

Essential details:

  • Camps run 5 days, or 4 if the week includes a statutory holiday. A limited number of spaces are available for camps
  • All materials are provided!
  • Your week-long adventure includes gallery visits, lunch time outings to see the Calithumpians, and games on the Green. Some camps also include outings to Science East
  • Dress for mess and fun! Non-marking indoor shoes recommended.
  • Camps are open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (Programming runs 9:00 am to 4:00 pm)
  • Please pick children up between 4:00 and 5:00.
  • Campers need a lunch and two snacks, drinks, sunscreen and sunhat.

 

Art all around us, ages 5-12

Be inspired by J.W. Morrice to travel and paint en plein-air! Sketching, painting, and printmaking as we explore Fredericton.

Chickadees, ages 5-8

Explore Canada with Roberte Melanson. Draw, paint, and sculpt like famous Canadian artists! Create papier maché sculptures, paintings, printmaking, and more inspired by the collection.

Atomic ART, ages 9-12

Imagination explosion! Discover Dali and Surrealism through painting, photography, and printmaking. The sky is the limit with amusement park assemblage inventions!

Riopelle kids, ages 5-8

Make your mark! Sculpt, construct, and create with self-expression. Discover the action art of the Automatistes and go big with murals and outdoor art!

Art for a small planet, ages 9-12

Celebrate New Brunswick’s beautiful landscape and creatures! Make your own art materials from nature and sculptures, masks, maquettes, and more with sketching along the Green.

Kings & Queenies, ages 5-8

Get in character! Create costumes, sculptures, dioramas, and paintings inspired by our fascinating portraits and their stories.

Acadie en Couleur, ages 5-12

In French with Roberte Melanson. Play with blue, white, red and yellow in the Acadian landscape with drawing, painting and sculpture. Come explore Acadian culture!

Atelier, ages 9-12

** Bilingual for French immersion students ** Create art while practicing French! Discover your inner Matisse with Roberte Melanson and create portraits, landscapes, and sculptures.

Storytellers, ages 5-12

Escape the everyday through mixed-media stories, cartoons, and interactive book-making. Discover the secret lives of the paintings in ‘The Frame-Up’ by Wendy McLeod MacKnight!

Emerge Camp for teens, ages 13-16

Learn creative strategies by looking at and responding to art with Christina Thomson. Meet local artists and visit downtown galleries and develop your art making skills: drawing, painting, clay, surface design, felting, and photography! Offered in collaboration with the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and Connexion artist-run-centre.

ABOUT OUR CAMPS

All our art instructors and camp super-visors are experienced educators who encourage creativity, self-expression and development in the arts.

Your children will have the opportunity to create original art in a friendly, respectful environment where they are at the center of the learning process.

Our staff are certified to provide first aid and CPR and to adapt to your children’s learning style and needs.

Campers need a lunch and two snacks, drinks, sunscreen and a sunhat.

PAYMENTS AND RECEIPTS
Please note that refunds are possible only with a 5 day cancellation. Refunds or camp changes MUST be accompanied by your original receipt.

Your cash register receipt is your official receipt. Please ensure that you pick up your receipt before or during the camp week and retain it for any applicable purposes.
