Artistica March Break Camps
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Programs for kids ages 5-12 who like adventures in art!
Discover the world of art in the heart of Fredericton! Meet local artists and explore new media and techniques each day. Come for one day or for the whole week and experience a range of creative indoor and outdoor activities.
- Camps run 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- $35 per day or $150 for the week
- Membership prices: $30/day $140/week
- Pick up by 5pm at the latest as the gallery closes at that time.
- Campers need a lunch and two nut-free snacks.
- Dress for mess and fun! Bring indoor shoes as well as plenty of warm layers for outside play.
- Maximum 20 students
Monday March 5: Making mini worlds:
Check out the figures of folk art. Spend the day building maquettes and a diorama; sculpt, paint, and create finger puppets. Also, discover the work of Michael Smith by visiting him in the Bruno Bobak Artist-in-Residence Studio.
Tuesday March 6: Kaleidoscopic Colours:
Use the elements of art to create exciting visual designs like Alex Janvier, and explore watercolours with artist-in-residence Michael Smith. Combine painting, collage, printmaking, and collaborate on a large mural to be hung in the gallery!
Wednesday March 7: Pop-art people:
Make mixed-media portraits inspired by Andy Warhol’s work, and sculpt a bust similar to the one of Lord Beaverbrook! Use instant photography, sunprints, and digital photography to alter your portraits.
Thursday March 8: Celebrate Women Artists:
Discover the art of women in the collection for International Women’s Day! Draw, paint, and sculpt like Mary Pratt, Molly Lamb Bobak, Gathie Falk, and Anna Torma. Create textile art and banners with local artist Danielle Hogan.
Friday March 9: Dalí Day:
Discover Dalí’s dreamscapes and create your own painting including animals, architecture, and mysterious landscapes. Make a surrealist mask!
PAYMENTS AND RECEIPTS
Please note that refunds are only possible up to 5 days before the start of the camp. Refunds or camp changes MUST be accompanied by your original receipt.
Your cash register receipt is your official receipt. Please ensure that you pick up your receipt before or during the camp week and retain it for any applicable purposes.
A completed and signed form is required for registration.
ABOUT OUR CAMPS
All our art instructors and camp assistants are experienced educators who encourage creativity, self-expression and development in the arts.
Your children will have the opportunity to create original art in a friendly, respectful environment where they are at the center of the learning process.
Our staff are certified to provide first aid and CPR and to adapt to your children’s learning style and needs.
