Curator Crunch: Party at the Inn! Beaverbrook and Krieghoff’s “Merrymaking”
Jan 8: 12:15- 12:50 pm. One of the country's first famous early artists, Krieghoff is best known for his winter and landscape scenes of Quebec that are filled with the customs and traditions of various Native peoples and the activities and character of the French-Canadian settler or habitant. His most acclaimed painting is "Merrymaking" which depicts the morning after a rousing night of celebrating at the Jolifou Inn.
Thursday night art class: Thursday, 7:00- 9:00 pm. All skill levels are welcome, ages 16+. Cost is $8 for members, $15 per session for non-members; materials are included. Please register by calling 458-2028.
Jan 9: Journey into the mind of the artist through the exploration of the formal elements of art. Katrina Slade will guide students through lessons on the elements of art using both wet and dry media in a variety of creative lessons.
Art for Tots: Fridays from 10:00- 10:45 am. Cost is free for members, $10 per session for non-members; materials are included. Please register by calling 458-2028.
Jan 10: Painting with rollers
Jan 12: 12:30 pm. Strings, clarinets and even brass... we've got it all! Join musicians from the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra as they present a short program featuring a variety of chamber music ensembles in advance of their full orchestra concert at the Playhouse.
