Born in Yarmouth, NS in 1903, Maud Lewis is one of the most celebrated Canadian folk artists. Lewis is known for the outdoor scenes which she painted, often depicting wildlife and day-to-day tasks in limited but candidly charming detail, a common feature of some folk art painting.
